Welcome back to your favorite farm’s blog!
We want to start off by saying… we made a mistake. As you can see from the picture, Bam-A-Lam is fine. She was not got by a opossum. But sadly her sister, Luanne was. As tragic as it is, I one, feel horrible for it happening in the first place; that those pesty possums outsmarted me again. And secondly, I feel terrible that I put the wrong obituary out. So to my wonderful Luanne, fly high my sweet girl

With that good cry out of the way, let’s jump into today’s blog! Probably when yall are reading this I will be on my way to Montgomery to Alfa’s main office representing not only the farm but also Jefferson County’s Young Farmers group at the state’s chairman’s workshop. I am being highly considered for the position of next chairman (or chair lady🧐) of the young farmers of Jefferson county! I am so excited, honored and beyond grateful for this wonderful opportunity and all the experiences that comes along with this position! I am so looking forward to growing in and with this amazing group and really advocating for agriculture right here in Jefferson County as well as representing Jeff Co at a state level! WITH THAT: if you live in Jefferson County and are between the ages of 18-35 and want to get more information on this fantastic group- Reach out to me and as I’m learning all the ins and outs, so can you! I am so excited and so grateful for giving God my life, my dreams and trusting his plan for my life.
JELLY MAKING! 😱 phase one of the blueberry jelly is complete! Now to put all the ingredients together and actually get this into jars! This process is somewhat time consuming but I love every second of it! We will have a restock VERY SOON so be on the lookout for the offical launch! If you want on the preorder list to ensure you get a jar (or two or three😂) message us at (205)-680-4645 and let us know! Small jars are $4 and big jars are $6!
We are so excited for CLASS TWO OF SUMMER FARM SCHOOL! Make sure to get your kids or even yourself registered for this! This is an amazing opportunity to come out and LEARN! Open to all ages!!! Class two is about gardening! And we will have 2 more classes in July! Use the link below to get signed up!
Yall we are so excited to get to press our own shirts here within the next week! We have switched to in house printing and pressing to ensure an effective cost for y’all and for us! Doing it this way keeps our cost down and more focus on giving back to our programs! With each shirt sale, $5 is going back into the farm, the animals who help with our programs, and of courses our programs! Our programs consist of:
Weekly bible studies for youth and adult girls/ women to come out to the farm, dive deeper in God’s word, have a support group around each other and get to do it all with the animals!
Agriculture classes that focus in the root and history of ag in Alabama as well as getting kids engaged with animals they may have never seen or experience before
The traveling farm and goat! We take Jingles, our wonderful goat, on the road to your school, daycare, library, assisted living or event! Jingles loves to get out for car rides and meet new people and help put smiles on everyone’s face as well as educating people on goats, small scale farming, and agriculture all the way down to “where does your food come from?”. We love the opportunity to reach out to our community! All of these on the road farm experiences are free and selling our shirts and apparel help with the gas cost!
Farm Fun Days! We absolutely love opening up our farm on a day to the public for anyone to come and experience the animals!
Farm Tours! These are a more private setting for individual families (or can be a really cute date idea🥰) to come out have have the farm to themselves and get to experience all what we have to offer with the owner’s undivided attention!
Master Classes! These are designed specifically for people wanted to gain better knowledge of small scale farming, homesteading, chicken keeping, goat keeping, and hobby farming! This is a great tool we use to pass our knowledge down to the next generation who will keep the farming and homesteading dream alive! And boy do we love to talk about what we’re passionate about!
WOW! What a dream come truly- HONESTLY! I always knew I’d want to work with animals but never knew I had so much more purpose for my life! God is truly amazing! I used to say this all the time when I THOUGHT I was where I needed to be, but God showed up and showed me EXACTLY where I was MEANT to be! (Look back at those key words) My saying that I always said was “Passion and determination will make your dreams a reality”. Five years ago I had no clue what I was TRULY meant to be doing. I WAS MADE FOR MORE. Five years ago me would be so proud of where we are today. Even little Brandie would be so proud of what we are doing and she would definitely look to me as a role model. And that’s exactly what I strive for everyday- to spread kindness, sunshine and to set an example everyday ☀️
Lots of love,
Brandie👩🏼🌾
