Well… it’s been a minute guys 😅
So much has happened over the past few months, I didn’t even have enough time to sit down and write a blog every week. Our last blog we had just announced about us being on tv! Well since then we’ve had some ups and downs for sure. So let’s dive in!
We want to start off with our tv debut on November 20th! Jhas was so amazing and the response from it afterwards was incredible!
To watch hit this link:
Next was a trip down to Montgomery for the state’s annual farmers meeting! This was such a neat experience for me as I am the newly elected young farmers chairman for Jefferson county. Seeing the whole state come together and bounce ideas off of each other, vote on very important topics that is as farmers needed to back, as well as meeting several farmPAC endorse candidates for state elections was just a surreal experience. I came back with a lot of knowledge and ideas to lead the young farmers group towards excellence!
Then came the holidays which came and went far too quick. In there were some very cold mornings, ice and some snow falling(?) All I know is there were several days where I contemplated a lot of life choices 😂😂😂 kidding. Kidding. Now looking back it wasn’t that bad, just some few cold days where there wasn’t enough layers to keep me warm🤣 I am always so thankful for those few extra days during the holiday season to slow down and spend quality time with the animals as well as family.
Next came the new year! 2026! With that came new goals and possibilities and changes I never thought would happen. God really came move mountains in your life when you surrender and let him take the pen for your life’s story. It’s been a difficult year so far to say the least. Since January we had to say goodbye to our dear Dixie Chick, who passed away in January due to old age. Sweet girl has been with us since the addition of the flock back in 2022. Then we came up on one year without my sweet Hadley on March 2nd. Boy that was hard. It’s weird how memories seem to fade away and yet all I want to do is go cuddle with her out in the pasture one more time. Then if that wasn’t enough, our sweet old man Levi decided it was his time to be reunited with Hadley and passed away on March 17th. It’s been a weird and difficult adjustment to life without my “reasons” out in the pasture. Had and Levi were the reason why Suni- Bear Farms was founded in the first place. They needed a safe landing, somewhere who would should them nothing but love and treats and allowed them to be spoiled rotten. It’s truly strange not seeing them in the barn or out in the pasture. It’s really hard now without my Levi. Levi was something special. Like he was my missing piece for so long. And 8 years just wasn’t enough time for me. Don’t get me wrong I will always be so grateful for the 8 wonderful years I had with my sweet boy but I do miss him hollering for his dinner early or him coming to find me in the pasture to rub his head on my leg to tell me that he loved me. It’s been rough but I do know that he never suffered and only ever knew love so I do have a sense of peace with that. He wouldn’t want me to keep mopping around. He would want me to go help the next goat who needs their safe landing. Levi was always the one who would get buddied in with the newbies because he was so gentle and caring for them. He knew his purpose. So I will continue his legacy on with the next ones who comes through the gate.
But with hard days came the good days. God really does take care of his sheep, even when we get lost sometimes. We had our story featured in a magazine back in March as well as getting on the cover of another magazine! I am so over the moon about how God is taking His story and going state wide with it! “He’s not done writing the rest of my story.”
I have also been praying a lot about the direction the farm was going to go especially since Levi’s passing. DO NOT WORRY. the farm and myself are not going anywhere, I am simply refining everything to be super organized and ready for easy scheduling and juggling everything I want to accomplish and offer with the farm! There’s nothing changing, where just enhancing! 🤩🫶🏻👏🏻
With that said let’s dive in to some announcements 🤩
we still have eggs for sale! We are extending farmstand pickup hours and days to get these moved!
